You can't "choose" whom you're attracted to.
I certainly can't. For me, it has been women all my life.
But here's a true story. In the small town where I grew up, there was a single (male) homosexual in our high school. A group of guys I hung around with were decisively heterosexual (it was, after all, the late 60s).
At some point, shortly after graduation, I moved on, but this group of guys began hanging out with the one homosexual. Long story short, out of a group of seven guys, four overnight became "homosexual". Plus one's brother.
Say it all you want, but I knew these people and while I believe one had the potential to become homosexual, the others did it voluntarily, not out of some predisposition.
I cite as other examples Mick Jagger and Rod Stewart, both of whom had extended periods during their lives where they appeared to be experimenting with homosexuality and made the choices they ultimately lived with.
There is no evidence to suggest that homosexuality can't be "learned", and I've seen a lot that it can be. |
