Oh, thanks for the explanation... I wasn't clear what you were trying to say.

One half of your biological identity comes from your mom, the other half from your dad.

>>> 'Natch.

It is foreign to your natural biological identity, to who you are in nature, for your dad to abandon your mom to then join himself to another woman. That woman is not of your biology and does not with your dad reflect you.

>>> I don't think that you can generalize in this way about biological makeup directly producing such a behavioral imperative... in fact, I'm sure you can't. (Except in some kind of a philosophical or metaphysical 'thought game'.)

The relationship having most integrity with your identity is found in your dad's being linked to your mom for as long as they should live. That relationship reflects the biology of all humanity.

>>> There is no scientific, physical evidence for monogamy being the only natural behavioral state for humanity... in fact, there is significant scientific evidence to support the view that it is not a biological imperative for humans - from numerous examples of social systems throughout the history of Man where monogamy was not the norm, to countless examples throughout the rest of the animal kingdom where monogamy is not a common practice either (including evidence from some close relatives of humanity), or exceedingly common examples in nature where where multiple sexual partners are the species norm...

>>> If you want to make a moral case that monogamy is a way to 'perfect' the human condition, that's one thing, and that's a perfectly acceptable argument.

>>> But you cannot draw upon biological science to claim that it is the only natural state of sexual practice for humanity... because the evidence contradicting that is so overwhelming.
