Understood and agreed, but it sure felt like they encouraged the change a little too much. High Tech was billed as clean, which is another question since they tend to use some rather nasty chemicals. I think most Oregonians affected by those declining industries were exacerbated by Oregon regulations. Then to top it all off not more than ten years ago Oregon put limitations on Intel Corp's growth and capped their headcount for some reason. Another example of cutting your own growth, typical Of Oregon policy in the long view.

As for Sizemore, don't know much about him - but anyone that would advocate rapid tax hikes during boom times has a rather narrow view of the world and economic history. Somewhat like the folks that talk about the Clinton economy and the Bush recession. Just a bunch of politicians spinning a burst bubble into partisan politics.
