Limiting INTC and the like is dangerous. At the same time, I suspect they were trying to not be dependent on one industry. Even the best planning won't keep you out of trouble; you just hope it will.

As for Sizemore, don't know much about him - but anyone that would advocate rapid tax hikes during boom times has a rather narrow view of the world and economic history.

Did you think he was advocating tax increases? If so, what he was really doing was putting measures on the ballot that limited tax increases. He did so many measures that passed that now OR can raise its taxes easily.

Somewhat like the folks that talk about the Clinton economy and the Bush recession. Just a bunch of politicians spinning a burst bubble into partisan politics.

Probably the expansion under Clinton was not as great as it seemed nor is the current economy as bad as it seems.....by definition, we are still not in recession. However, IMO things are on a wrong track and look to be getting worse instead of better.
