I just read the entire Rather interview with Saddam.

Where were the questions about whether Saddam was involved with the attempt to assassinate Bush Sr.?

Where were the questions about the specific expulsion of weapons inspectors in 1998?

Where were the questions about the chemical/biological weapons that those inspectors found shortly before they were expelled?

Where were the questions about the hundreds of Iraqi scientists who have not submitted to interviews as required by the resolutions?

Where were the questions about the human and environmental catastrophe unleashed by Saddam when he ordered the oil fields set afire in Kuwait in 1991?

Where were the questions about the reports that Saddam has killed opposition leaders in Iraq? <there was an A&E Biography segment last night that was absolutely chilling>

Where were the questions about his gassing of the Kurds?

And on and on and on and on.....

Maybe Rather was too scared to ask that stuff. I know I would have been. But as a journalist, if he was too scared to ask the real questions under the format, he should have declined the interview. That was not journalism; it was a disgrace.
