As the years roll past I find myself doing less running to and fro and more staying put if I like something. If you want to see one of the bigger acts you often times need to get there an hour or so prior to your band or risk not getting in...the FIRE MARSHALL stays busy during SXSW

for instance...friday night at the Austin Music Hall we have :

Jayhawks at 10

Lucinda Williams at 11

WIlie at 12

that in itself is most likely what one would refer to as a "sure thing"<g>...a lot of the fun and challenge is finding those great unknowns. Last year I happened across a great little trio that I loved so I stayed for their whole set. I've since become a genuine fan...Jon Butler Trio...I have a bunch of those "finds" over the years

to answer your question...I spend from 6:00pm until 3:00am..Wed-Sun on the "quest"...and every year as I drive home late sunday I'm sad as f*ck that it's over...and begin the countdown until the next year
