News reports I am reading say that observers are seeing massive troop movements south, maybe towards Tikrit, his power base, maybe towards Baghdad.
According to the linked map, one large oilfield is around Kirkuk, which, I believe, is in the northern No Fly Zone, and the other close to Kuwait, which is in the southern No Fly Zone.

Based on things I have been reading for a while, we control parts of the region around Kirkuk already, so I wouldn't be surprised if the northern oil fields are under our control, but at the same time, I would be surprised that it's not common knowledge.
If Saddam isn't screaming about it, then he is afraid of what would happen if it became common knowledge, maybe?
But I am surprised we aren't seeing leaks from refugees.
