If the 250K cap were in place, her family would get nothing... their legal fees could easily amount to that much, and the insurance companies can stretch the litigation out as long as they want... and there is no cap on the amount they can spend.

Yeah I know thats why I think 250K is too low. I think it needs to be raised to 750K or one million. The legal problems we have in this country are another matter that needs to be dealt with, maybe there needs to be some sort of legal expense cap on % claim, I don't know. But we just can't let every misdiagnosis cost the system $10mm+, I think that is sensible, don't you?
