1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that, when he shall appear,
we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

You get the doctrine that Christ no longer has a physical body from that??????? Talk about ignoring the plain meaning of the text!

Very simply, John is saying we are now "sons of God" but we don't yet have our glorified and resurrected bodies, hence; "it doth not yet appear what we shall be" "Appear" is the operative word Brian.

As far as 1 Cor 15:44, Spiritual does not mean non-physical because it is still a body. Supernatural is a much better rendering. This is from the Message;

1 Corinthians 15
44The seed sown is natural; the seed grown is supernatural--same seed, same body, but what a difference from when it goes down in physical mortality to when it is raised up in spiritual immortality!

I'll add more later.
