<<... but can anyone see additional drawbacks? >> hi thames... i've had two dogs for years (although one of them is now on "loan")... having two is really good for them and takes some of the pressure off the humans to entertain them... the only drawbacks as i could tell is that there's double the poop and sometimes their excitement in chasing things like squirrels feeds off eachother... they look at one another and then take off! but the training is easier - they seem to like to compete to see who is the better dog. and, of course, as puppies they can both drive you nuts - double the insanity sometimes ;)
