There are many Generic equivalents. However, drug companies have falsified results on their drugs in an effort to show that generics work slightly less than do the brand names. This isn't on a small level....this is on a huge level. They have gone out and paid for research that keeps generics off the market and money flow into their pockets. Take a drug like Synthroid (sp ?). I know for a fact it happened with that drug and the FDA just turned its head. Its total BS
