No, I don't think putting Saddam in control of so much oil is a good thing. So, the answer is NO. But, I wasn't advocating an ivasion of Iraq to prevent the first Gulf War either. Iraq was threating to invade Kuwait in the early 1960s and the British prevented it by sending troops to Kuwait to protect it. It's not like Saddam's saber rattling over Kuwait before his invasion was unprecendted. Why didn't we and the British just do what was done in the early 1960s? Send troops to prevent an invasion? I guess that's a question for the ages now. But, it does make me suspect of our leader's intentions. I believe they allowed Saddam to invade Kuwait, so they could use it as pretext to permenantly station American troops in the Persian Gulf region in order to control the region's oil supplies. ~JMHO~
