True, but's it's not silly to ascribe to Bush responsibility for a "we can ignore the world" facade wrt environmental issues. He's laid the policy that corporations will *voluntarily* improve their environmental practices. Give me a break. That's a way to evade leadership and responsibility on an issue many people care about. You didn't see industry sizing up the asbestos problem and taking appropriate measures to protect workers and the public from that danger, even decades after they knew it was serious problem that could kill people. Based on the capitalist designs on profits, I find the President's voluntary policy on corporate environmental behavior a poor alternative to *sensible* mandates.
