ROY, WHY NO XYBERNAUT ON FOX NEWS LIKE THEY SAID?

Xybernaut Wearable Computers to be Featured During FOX 5 News Program on Emergency Preparedness and Response
Wednesday February 26, 2:46 pm ET

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2003--Xybernaut (NASDAQ:XYBR - News)
-0-

WHAT: As part of continuing "War on Terror and Homeland Defense"
coverage, WTTG FOX 5 (Washington DC FOX affiliate) plans to air a
segment related to emergency preparedness and response.
Xybernaut(R) (NASDAQ:XYBR - News) has been invited to participate in the
segment and to demonstrate the Mobile Assistant(R) V (MA(R) V)
wearable computer first responder solution.
The wearable computing solution that will be demonstrated is an MA
V configured as a Critical Incident Response Toolkit (CIRT). The CIRT
platform was formally announced last week (February 20, 2003) jointly
by Xybernaut, the DOJ National Institute of Justice (NIJ) and the
South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA).
During the segment, Xybernaut will demonstrate the capabilities of
the CIRT solutions as a technology platform that assists emergency
"first responders" such as police officers, firefighters, HAZMAT
experts or other emergency personnel.
As indicated in the February 20 announcement, the objective of the
joint program is to continue to develop, deploy and evaluate solutions
that assist in rapid response to acts of terrorism, violence, natural
disasters and/or other emergency situations.
The system enhances rapid response capabilities by providing
immediate access to critical operational information necessary to
initiate tactical intervention, rescue and/or recovery operations.

WHEN: The segment is scheduled to air either Thursday, February
27, 2003 or Friday, February 28, 2003 during either the 7:00am or
8:00am ET FOX Morning News program.

WHERE: WTTG FOX 5 -- Washington, DC FOX affiliate.

Key elements related to the CIRT program include:

Xybernaut is the primary integrator of the joint DOJ-NIJ/SCRA CIRT solutions -- hardware, software and additional services
The CIRT activities involve various government entities/customers at federal/state/local levels -- this cross-jurisdictional element is an important aspect of how homeland security procurements are expected to be awarded
The CIRT contract award is valued at more than $700K for Xybernaut
The CIRT program leverages Xybernaut experience working with commercial, government, military and law enforcement communities for more than a decade
The CIRT concept/solution is being evaluated by the National Institute of Justice for consideration as a model for first responder technology throughout the U.S.
Xybernaut CIRT solutions are easily replicable and scalable to other jurisdictions -- international or federal/state/local within the U.S.
Xybernaut has been working with CIRT partners for more than 6 months -- the current deployment of Xybernaut MA V wearable computers is a critical phase in the program
The CIRT program is a "customer deployment" that is exemplary of Xybernaut efforts and success in the homeland security/first responder communities
The CIRT effort includes a Team Xybernaut partner -- this is an example of how Xybernaut works with partners on high quality business opportunities
