I find perfectly rational, intelligent, nice people can become stupid, raving, monsters on the subject of Religion and Politics. That is why you see so many people and places with a "No Religion or Politics," attitude or policy. Look at some of the posters we have to ban here that are probably nice people on other subjects.

Didja ever notice that you can persuade the best of people to do horrible things if you convince them it is for the "Common Good?" That was the reasoning behind the Fascism and Communism of the last Century.

That's true, John. We could argue over the definition of "much," but you know it is true. Hell, if Clinton was leading things, many conservatives would oppose him for the same reason. That's Human Nature, John.
