The position of France, Germany, and Russia in this matter is already fatally compromised BY THEIR OWN ECONOMIC INTERESTS- -exactly the crime you accuse the US of. Why are they not held to the same standard in judging their opposition? Eh?

On the Security Council, 2 of the 5 veto-holding members against a resolution with teeth have their positions corrupted by their own shady business dealings. The other two members are for a new strong resolution.
The 5th, China, is a corrupt dictatorship.

Angola, Chile, Germany, Pakistan and Spain
Bulgaria, Cameroon, Guinea, Mexico, and Syria
Of those, only one more than half (Chile, Germany, Spain, Bulgaria, Guinea, and Mexico) can credibly clain to be democracies.
