Are you in favor of selective enforcement of the law? You must be, because the US had repeatedly ignored the UN Resolutions against Israel. If the US is going to be a White Knight of this order, well, then it first deal with this issue. Had the US done this, Bush would have a tremendous coalition willing to take on Saddam, including many of his Arab neighbors.

Military pressure to reopen the inspection process was a good idea. I don't fault Bush for this. But he shot hiw wad too early, commiting too many forces to the region. He should have diligently, and secretly even, lobbied other UN nations to also commit troops for the express purpose of getting the inspection process back in place. Why should people die for his tactical mistake?

Russia had brokered a deal which Saddam accepted just days prior to the invasion. Bush the elder didn't take the deal. That war was completely sanction by the UN, the present situation is not.

This kind of situation will only worsen as Al Qaeda will use the Iraqi invasion to recruit more terrorists. In fact, the war could make things even more uglier in America. Worse, Americans will not be welcomed abroad, as this war is dividing once long-loved allies.
