I still feel that the issue shouldn't be whether or not we have a war, but how we conduct it.

Well, I would support avoiding war IF Saddam, before the war started, heading for exile, something like the UAE proposal. If that happened, I still think we would need to move quickly to occupy the country until it stablized, but I don't think it would have to be a war as such.

As to how we conduct the war, I frankly do not believe there is a more humane way to conduct a war than what has become our standard since the Gulf War. And in this instance, the DOD has clearly stated there will be not only the effort to avoid civilians, as was done before, but also the effort to avoid destruction of infrastructure.

I just don't know how we could conduct a more humane war than we do.
