It isn't just energy though. The Bush administration has done nothing for the technology industry in California, and he kindof snubbed the crisis in California and other states as if it was some sort of fiscal mismanagement issue- when there was fraud involved.

I am not blaming the Bush administration for the energy issues in Ca like others here. But my issue is the complete disconnect the Bush admin has with the states and some industries like technology. Bush's economics team is a group of old cronies from 70s stodgy businesses like railroads. And his tax plan does nothing to help technology, dividend tax cuts only mean that investment capital will be removed from growth industries for more oldline tech.

If we do get another economic boom here, I think most agree it will be technology driven (I'm not talking about a bubble). Thats why technology as an industry and California needs to be considered when formulating federal policy, vs. what the Bush admin is doing right now - a giant FU to the millions of people employed in the industry.

On TV last night there was a story about the WH spending a great deal of time deciphering the issues with republicans in this state (and there are many issues, believe me). But one HUGE issue that seems to elude Bush is his own attitude wrt policy. The high tech CEOs and others here don't like Bush although they supported him in the election.
