Lizzie I don't have a lot of love for Bush. I am no cheer-leader for him. But the structural imbalance that took place in the last decade is not his makings. If I were him I would have sealed the borders the first day after 9/11. The troops in Germany and Korea would be there. I would then have told every department of government except the military your budget is cut by 15 %. Deal with it. Deal with it the way every family in the nation has to. A nation on the brink of financial collapse can't be handing out tax dollars to illegal immigrants. That would stop. Bush lacks the courage to do this. If Hispanics are that unpatriotic then this nation is toast. I would have eliminated almost all social spending and replaced it with a massive infra-structure jobs program that would employ people out of work. We need to get water out of flood zones to places with the problems of drought. There are many ways like this that instead of just handing out money and getting nothing in return we could do some long term good. And in the process the environmentalists would become advisors not religious fanatical dictators whose goal is mother earth minus human beings.
