I have explained it to you over and over but you don't hear the explanation.

It isn't that I don't hear it, it is that you cannot take a highly illogical, inconsistent position and snow me with it the way you can some others. Your positions on many of these issues do not follow any kind of logical thought process, and in particular, on the distinction between Kosovo and Iraq your rationale is totally convoluted.

I have accepted that that's true for you. We are very different so I can see how we may come to different conclusions.

However, those differences need to be compromised in some way because this disagreement is dividing the nation.

It is easy for you to say, "you don't understand, so I won't try to explain". This is not unlike a hallucinating schizophrenic having a difficult time explaining what he sees and why.

Its my way of not engaging. I am tired of the argument. In several months, little progress has been made on bridging our differences over this issue. However, I am grateful for the discourse. Its caused me to research the subject carefully, and to determine what support exists for my position. It has helped to remove any doubts I had.

Our allies disagree with your position.

No, they don't. While the allies in the region are not in a position to publicly support the action, those who are informed about such matters say EVERYONE -- EVERYONE -- in the region wants us to get rid of Saddam. Egypt. Saudi Arabia. Jordan. Turkey. Certainly Israel. And Iran. Every last one of them wants Saddam gone.

Those same countries want Saddam to go quietly in the night, not to be deposed thru a war. What do you need to have happened so that you get what's really happening? I know you can be a stubborn a-hole but seriously....does someone have to hit you upside the head before you get it.

Today, Turkey's Parliament turned down a $30 billion aid package and in the process, is proclaiming they don't want any part of the war. And then they shut down Parliament until Tuesday so that there can not be any more votes taken on the subject. You understand that the Prime Minister with whom the administration is negotiating is extremely embarrassed by this action. His own party controls the Parliament and they rejected what he negotiated. Outside, the Turks were screaming "Death to America". What do you think the Turkish Parliament knows that you don't. I know you don't believe in polls but when they're screaming "Death to America", 9/11 causes me to listen very carefully.

So please don't tell me how much the neighborhood wants Saddam to leave.......how they are willing to go to war to get rid of him. You need to move outside the administration's rhetoric and hear the truth. This war is going very badly for us and not one shot has been fired. That should tell you something but I know it won't.
