Bush has put himself in a pickle on Iraq. He started by demanding Saddam go and basically stated he's going it alone if no one else likes it. Right before the elections which was obvious as a diversion from the economy.

Then he played "good cop" and went to the UN but hasn't given them much time. So now he's saber rattling again and back to where he started minus all the post 9-11 good wil we once had. Meanwhile, 7 months of jittery markets and global division, distrust and malaise, costing trillions, and Saddam is probably loving the attention.

Bush should have just gone in bombing and admitted it was about oil, or took his time to build a full coalition first. Either one or the other. This approach of his has really been confusing, dishonest and wasteful. Amateurish really. Especially giving us evidence that turned out to be phony. Now I really think Bush is damned if he does or doesn't. And the world is more confused and distrustful about it than ever.
