You make the mistake of thinking that the only reason not to have a war with Iraq is that Saddam is good. The fallacy of the excluded middle. As it turns out Saddam is a bad guy, he just doesn't happen to be a big threat to either the U.S. or his neighbors.

Why is that important you might wonder. Nobody else would wonder, it is obvious to freedom loving Americans that it is wrong to attack countries just because they happen to be currently lead by someone you don't particularly appreciate. It is even more wrong to attack a country that is posing no particular threat just to obtain a material gain, in this case oil.

The last time the U.S. performed such an unsavory deed was in 1898 when the U.S. seized the Philippines. After 50 years of violent protest the U.S. gave up that country. One can only hope that we have learned from that lesson.
