I'm going to make a prediction: The annual cost of ongoing operations in Iraq will be LESS a year from now than they have been for each of the last 12 years.

After Saddam is defeated, we will QUICKLY begin to move out of Iraq, as Bush realizes this is going to be critical in showing the Arab states that we have no imperialistic interest.

The cost of maintaining two no-fly zones, constant carrier and air operations, and various other personnel in the region has been substantial over the last 12 years (if my memory serves me, Clinton spent 450M on cruise missles to nail Iraqi tents in one day <g>)...
