What the US did to the Kurds and Shiites in Iraq after the '91 war was a crime. We encouraged them to revolt against Saddam with promises of protection and aid- -and then left them swinging in the wind. Their were rumors that the US did the same thing before, during, and after the Hungarian Revolution in '56. Initially, I didn't believe it; now i don't doubt it. The same thing appears to be happening to Afghanistan: left to die. During WW2, the US promised Filipinos who joined the US military to fight the Japanese that the would be given GI Bill rights and citizenship after the war. They got neither. Disgusting.
