| I buy my smokes from an Indian reservation, "Roger," paying about $16.00 a carton. One can also buy cheap smokes over the Internet. I have never been a brand snob, and I buy the cheapest cigarettes available. There were only two cheap brands I found I couldn't handle--one because the ash would fall off, creating a fire hazard, and the other because it sent me into paroxysms of coughing, a condition with which I was a total stranger at the time.
I remember several years ago, I vowed to quit smoking when cigarettes went up to $5.00 a carton. Hah! It's addiction, pure and simple.

Cigarettes did do this for me: I never got into anything else, seeing how addicting they were. I was afraid if I tried other addicting (read illegal) substances, I might like them too much. In that respect, cigarettes have been my friend.
