Beavis, Butthead, whatever (sorry):

I just heard Jay Swent, acting CEO of Cyrix get interviewed on Fox Business News (Neil Cavuto). All he talked about was the <$1,000 PC and that was where Cyrix and National would be setting their sights. He said Intel has not addressed that segment so far and that Cyrix could dominate there. The activists over on the Cyrix thread say they heard Cyrix top management saying they would not stop development of M2, M3 (whatever cretin that is they think they could develop as M3, competitor for Merced!). Sounds to me like there may be one less contender for the high end CPU chip market (one half of a contender left, AMD?). Intel probably can keep all their engineers, fabs, etc. completely busy on the medium - high end markets. Let Cyrix and AMD have the crumbs.

I do have to say that Swent sounded like a CEO that knows his stuff.
Maybe AMD should go after him.
