Zeev, Of course there were (and are) many strands in Judaism. I think of the teachings of Jesus as a coherent sub-set of some of those strands, collected and separated from the rest.

I would like to know if there are any writings on what was unique about the teachings of Jesus - compared to the various traditions of the Hebrews of that time and prior. We know that none of the authors of the Old Testament dared to claim divinity for themselves. But what about belief in after life ? Or that Hebrews do not have a special status in the eyes of the one God ? Do you know if there is a study on that ?
