Yeah that was probably more story then a guy should tell though I suspect it's not very secret these decades later. I remember a few that would likely end up with my ass re-inducted and in the brig if broadcast as I'm sure you do:)

I remember spending 36 hours on the surface of the North Atlantic in a winter storm due to a little repair on a breaker. 35' seas on a surfaced sub is not my idea of a cool time. In the end I was the only diesel operator left physically capable of performing and ran it for the final 22 hours. That was the reason I went on sub's so I didn't have to ride that crap!
