Reagan was political as an actor. It's a long tradition. Stars get asked by many causes to speak for them. They become educated on the issues, meet the experts, etc. Many of them are very serious intelligent people. Others are flakes. Doesn't make any sense to brand them as a group. In general, most people in the arts and highly-educated are sceptical of Bush, or openly against him. Statistics show the more educated people are the more they are against Bush. doesn't surprise me.
