Sounds like a good teacher.

I'm not arguing that sharing one's political views makes one a good teacher. I'm simply arguing that sharing one's political views should not only be permitted but encouraged. Particularly given the level of mandated patriotism in most high schools in this country, the more debate there is as to the merits of such, what are the grounds for it, how that translates into free speech, into attitudes toward current and past administrations in state and federal levels, war and peace. You need to encourage the expression of critical views to help students think through whatever views they have. So they become the carriers of their own views; not of the schools, their parents, or their teachers.

Whew, now I'm going to get down off my soap box. I was afraid I would climb up. Someone will certainly throw rocks at me now.
