Tim, I think the significance of my post may have gone overhead.
Every odd year = 2 years.
Consider the upgrade cycle median year, the variance of the upgrade cycle, and then look at the graph and the surface area and consider how pushed out upgrades have been during the bust.
Then, factor in a possible upgrade cycle in either 2003 and 2004, and considering the number of PCs out there that may need upgrading - that's one heck of a large amount of potential upgrade demand.
Unfortunately, I was too busy to buy back my leaps today, given today's drop in prices.
On another serious note, how good are your pattern recognition skillsets? When bin Laden's videotapes were released, did they seem to happen during a period where the stock market was in a modest weekly upswing, not a strong swing, but a sufficiently weak enough one that a setback ensued when the videotapes were released. Makes you wonder if the terrorist group is making stock money off the timing of the videotape releases. Would be a good project for an MIT mathematics student to track down.
Glad they got the three terrorists during the weekend in Karachi. The CIA is doing excellent work over there. Intelligence certainly seems more effective than bullying an entire country around, which may only create more terrorists.
They still have a key financier they still need to locate and about 4 more lower level operational people.
