As people grow older, those who are fairly bright tend toward conservatism because they come to understand that liberalism doesn't work.

Do you make these things up as you go along? There is little, if any, correlation between smarts and your ideology.

I know old conservatives who are as dumb as a door knob. And I know old liberals who are brilliant. Most people who grow conservative as they age do so because they are afraid of losing all they've gained. What they perceive as the "socialistic nature" to be found in liberalism terrifies them. They are afraid they might lose everything.

But it goes beyond that......conservatives stand for tradition while liberals want to move into the future.

So stop with your attempts to make a conservative/intelligence association so that it fits the neat little package you've made for yourself.

Besides, it doesn't matter how smart you are.......its what you do with those smarts that counts.
