The BBC have learned their Chomsky very well. One could call their campaign 'Manufacturing Dissent'

When we are assailed by the anti-war critics here, they don't mention that the overseas opposition is fed by this kind of propaganda. There is only so much we can do. The real way to stop it is to be successful, and ignore them. Of course, our critics here will never see it that way.

The SF Chronicle story about the protesters plan to shut down San Francisco on the day we move to liberate Iraq just blew my mind. Ya gotta hope a bunch of guys in hard hats with baseball bats will show up. But the only real way to deal with them is to pin them on the Dems just as hard as possible, and use it in the next election.

A line I intend to use, when someone brings up a Dem Presidential hopeful, is to say, "Well, you know we have some really serious problems overseas right now. Maybe we could afford to have a Dem President in 8 to 12 years. Why don't you hold that thought until then, and maybe we can consider it at that time." :>)
