I've read everything I can get my hands on regarding MBI, because I consider them one of the triumvirate of "financial weapons of mass destruction" as Buffet put it. FNM, MBI, and JPM are three poster children for the bubble representing mortgage finance bubble, structured finance bubble, and derivatives respectively. When any one of those three implodes, the Depression will really begin to bite. All three play enormous roles in liquidity. So, have I missed something about the financial guaranty companies? What is this "insured stock mutual fund" you refer to? Got a reference? BC
