I can certainly respect that. It is the imposed aggression of lawlessness which bothers me, however. Watching the daily news, in that respect, is an unpleasant choice I make. I think that agressiveness and competitiveness is biologically based in the evolutionary struggle for survival. Therefore, forums which channel it into competitive engagements are valuable and necessary, IMO.

Awareness of underlying strata of reality always evoke feelings which must be addressed. For instance, when I watch someone shovelling fat into their arteries I am aware that this attaches to future pain and misery. But the right to experience pain and misery is a human right, and so long as it is consequential to voluntary choice, it honors a higher principle of freedom. In the case of sports it goes hand in hand with the trade-off for self esteem, mastery, and personal success. The voluntary choice to risk pain (such as in digging ditches or picking rocks) for the chance for a better life is an admirable indicator of the human capacity to choose and experience freely, and to assess and to judge risk and reward.
