Chuck, Steve, anyone - I have looked for the answer to my very simple question and can't find it, so please forgive the ignorance.
I need 2 things: a simple, inexpensive(!) realtime service via the Internet so that it will be available to me when I trave as well as at home. I don't need a high level of sophistication, just visual and audible alerts on possible breakouts I've been watching, simple intraday charts etc. I don't need the level of charting and information that professional traders do, just an assist when I have time to use it. Need equities and indexes, options/futures would be nice but not necessary.
I also need a source for end-of-day data for stocks, indexes, and futures for my charting program. I gather I'll need a separate, dial-up provider for that. I don't need charting software to go with it.
Any suggestions for reasonably priced sources for both would be welcome. I've looked at the ads in IBD etc, and they don't tell me much about end-of-day data. I called one, TC2000 I think, and they only offer equities, not futures.
Thanks,
