It's much ado about nothing.

I think this about says what needs to be said. But most Americans, regardless of religion, are offended at the notion of liberals picking apart the Pledge.

Personally, I'd say I'm pretty close to agnostic; however, I feel strongly that religious teachings are important and, in particular, the teachings of Christ are what is missing from society today.

I've long felt that children could benefit from a "Do Unto Others" course every year k-12, so that they learn to have a little respect for other people and their lives. If it has a little religious overtone, all the better. It isn't about church and state, it is about church and school, which I see as a different thing.
