I do think that was Bush and his oil cronies motive. They wanted to permanently station U.S. troops in the Persian Gulf and let Saddam invade Kuwait as pretext to do so. Why did they ignore the troop buildup and threats Saddam was making against his neighbor Kuwait? Perhaps they miscalculated and thought he would stop at the oil fields. But, that's just my opinion based upon my knowledge of the events leading up to and surrounding the Gulf War. You are certainly entitled to your opinion or entitled to ignore me if you wish. You were the one who started the conversation with me.
