Oh jeez - Give it a rest. Do you have any idea how many of those doomsday memos probably fly around every launch. I'd be willing to bet, from my experience in the unmanned space business, that it is many many thousands. In hindsight it is possible to pick up which were true, but if you tried to address each and every one on every flight you would:

a) spend a huge amount of money

b) probably not decrease the risk substantially since a scattergun approach to addressing risk is notoriously ineffective

The only way to know if something is wrong is to have insight into the risk management process and that is not going to fit into any soundbite or email. Perhaps they do not have the appropriate risk management system, but it sure as heck is a lot more open and organized than it was pre-Challenger.
