Are you under the impression I care if the revolution would have failed? What the French did was, imo, wrong. It's tempting to get back at nations you do not like by using proxy nations to do the fighting for you (in this case the French, using us, to get back at England). I hardly think it's a good thing to base international law on, do you? The ends do not justify the means, at least not in my reality- maybe in yours they do. I have to find a way to live with the means, myself.
