Re: "Just like flat taxes. If the rich dont pay more, society as we know it goes bankrupt."
Oh REALLY? LOL. Sounds like communal theory to me(you know, communism?). Your's is certainly a highly disputed theory that has failed over and over again in practice, in fact. The case suggesting that lower and/or flat taxes in fact will HELP the poor, is very strong(too strong for me to ever forget). Have you noticed that your notion is in dispute after 5000 years of written history in which taxation was an ever present and ever destructive element of life on earth, and that America thrived without an Income Tax at all once upon a time?
"Tax the Rich, feed the poor Til there are no rich no more."

...and no jobs, etc, as bureaucrats line their pockets first(in the false name of the needy as power corrupts them absolutely). Like THAT'S a step forward? We have some rich folks, so hey, why not work towards having none by creating a bureaucratic class empowered to manage the REAL money by law, LOL. We'll ALL be very needy soon enough, if we revert to believing as you do(save for bureaucrats and friends, of course). As you lower taxes(if you would) by placing more and more burden upon the rich on the way down, the poor will finally see little to gain from working hard for osmething more(you'll just have it taken away anyway). We'll become less productive, period, and will ALL be worse off while sharing a smaller pie(you wanna help the poor, think about the size of the pie- that's what matters - and what it took to bake it so big). The best way to ensure a great gap between rich and poor is to allow the rich and ruling classes to tax the masses(you REALLY need to think about consequences here and remember the American Revolution, etc.). Nothing is perfect, but your way SUCKS for SURE and by LAW, no less.
Power corrupts, and you believe in a system that writes great taxation power into law. There'll be no innovative and responsive private giving anymore, no Carnegie Libraries, etc. etc. Swell.
