The truth is new immigrants from Eastern Europe, Pacific have not lobbied hard at all. And bribery? Except China to Bill Clinton gov. I don't think it is an issue.
The loophole is the AFDC (Aid for Dependent Children)program which tries to help kids under 18 (thus the parents do not need to work a day!, and they got WISP program, free lunch for students, free no-cost medical, free dental, big financial aid for kids, and of course foodstamps besides cash grant). And most immigrants, middle or aged, have young kids!!! It is painful to see some immigrants live on welfare, Chapter 8 housing ( a big apartment in LA, they pay only 200 bucks), work in cash have more money and better life style than even those work at 3-4x minimum pay. Even more money if old dad/mom gets disability with the help of doctor/lawyer group if they rich 50+.
While a long time citizens here if lose their jobs and 401K, then they have no lucks...at least until they rich 62 or 62 1/2.
I normally see old immigrants who get all benefits even never worked a day in America live in $500K-$1M home. Well even they were rich in their own country, when they come here they give all the money to their kids.
Well, I am not bashing them since I am an immigrant too. But so pitiful for most taxpayers here they don't know how unfair it is for them. Same for stockholders who were long and got skinned by CEO's, CFO, ANALysts for years.
