Karen, my guess is that IF the Administration hadn't at least tried to get some quantity of smallpox vaccine in a reasonable amount of time, there would have been a large group of people whineing and moaning about that too. As it is, last I read, companies are trying to manufacture enough for citizens to take, should it be needed. You probably know that the supply was nearly zilch as of Sept 10, 2001.

So if people are choosing not to take it when it is available, it's their choice. However, if that toxin is used on the population, there certainly won't be enough caregivers to folks that need it.

It must be very hard to anticipate every bad thing that can happen ... and then to prepare the country for that potential hazard.

It's too bad that some people are so up and locked, but then, that's ultimately their problem. At least, a solution was offered.
