It doesn't require a PHD to understand that
environmental resources (such as air) are impacted by human activity, and
that humans have the choice to be thoughtful in how they process or use
resources. Filthy air is a health issue.

I'm delighted to know that you have committed to doing your part for clean air by giving up your car and all driving and only travelling by foot or bicycle. And that you have turned off all the heat and hot water in your house, since they are heated by processes which produce air-damaging pollution.

Now you have only to turn off your computer, cut off your power and phone, and eschew any use of air-polluting energy, and you will have taken a few steps toward become part of the solution rather than part of the problem. This should not be an unreasonable hardship for you -- billions of people around the globe live without vehicles or electricity in their homes, so it is an entirely possible way to live.

Who knows. Your example may inspire others to follow in your footsteps.

I'm glad that you are not one of those people who complain about a problem while at the same time exacerbating it.
