You're right. Fluctuating factors like volatility make it impossible to get an exact prediction of what price an option will actually tade at when the QQQ is at a particular price. You can always calculate the theoretical value, but that's too uncertain for the kind of trading you want to do.
One solution might be to use a broker who will execute option trades based on the price of the underlying stock. Preferred Trade is one that I know does this. The option order gets executed when the QQQ hits your target price.
