I'd like you to know that Paul and I have had a running exchange of numerous friendly PM's since last weekend. I do not want anyone to think there is bad blood between us. Paul is a considerate, brave, and responsible person and I've been watching his contributions on various web sites and forums here for a couple of years.

Thank you for the kind words. It never occurred to me that there might be a strain between us so I am glad that you clarified that publicly. In my research for a RTW essay on blogging technology and the future of the Web I ran across an interesting study of Internet Discussion Forums. The bottom line is that, for a number of reasons, they are a horrible tool for collaboration. Works well for exchanging information but not for developing ideas and new knowledge.

The symptoms described in the study matched my frustrations on FADG quite closely. Much to my chagrin, I was forced to admit that I was asking the tool to do something beyond it's design. Darn, I was so much happier when I thought it was all just the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy. ;-)

I will be lurking and I will chirp in now and then but I will use the 'quiet space' of my small board to try and work out new ideas. I will skip the back and forth of the US domestic politics debate. Been there, done that, sucked at it.

I apologize to the all the members of the FADG board for my various outbursts. Unacceptable. I am a now a ranter in recovery.
