Counting the cost....

OK I work in the investment industry so I guess I am biased against this administration and its poker playing style of foreign policy...why? because the US dollar is falling like a rock; the budget deficit which was a surplus not too long ago, is going out of sight; the stock market is moving into a fourth year of declines; America's greatest companies are facing financial challenges that could put some of them out of business (eg. the airlines); the diplomatic quarrel with Europe is affecting trade with the EU; and finally, despite incentives, tax cuts, low interest rates and a new treasury secretary who claims the dollar's woes don't bother him, the Bush White House looks completely bewildered by the economy, that is when it finds the time to look at what's going on. I have no idea how we are going to turn things around, and it looks like more and more money types around the world are reaching the same conclusion.
