Dear Golden one: You and I must be about the same age. I remember VERY WELL the Goldwater campaign and the Democrat Nuclear Bomb smear. Frankly, I blame that EXACT campaign for my involvement in Vietnam. I dont feel it would have been necessary at all if Goldwater would have been elected as while I really DOUBT he would have nuclearized the S.V. border, I believe the North thought he would. that probably would have been enough right there for NVA to stay home. jdn
