Well, I understand that there needs to be limits on what a mall can permit on it's premises. They are after all a business and need to keep up a friendly environment for the public to shop in. You can't have neo-NAZIs marching around inciting violence. And, you can't have Marxists marching around upseting people with anti-American tirades. Yes, I believe in private property. But, I also believe in the right of people to wear a shirt that says PEACE without fear of harassment.

But, as I understand it, the courts have ruled Malls to be the equivalent to public squares. I don't see why someone wearing a tee-shirt saying "Give Peace a Chance" or "Gore Lost, Get Over It" should be harassed and told to take their shirt off. PEACE is not a word that incites violence. I've worn PEACE shirts many times in the past and never had anyone get angry at me or incited any short of disturbance. If the two guys were breaking soliciting rules in the mall and handing out literature without getting it approved or harassing other patrons, then by all means they should be confronted and if necessary foricibly removed. But, according to the press releases I read, these guys were just wearing these PEACE shirts while they shopped and while they ate. I support their right to do those activities without fear of harassment.
